Tourists revel in traditional 'Valli Kummi Aatam' at Thirumoorthy Hills near Udumalpet

Udumalai Royal Arima Sangam and Udumalai Tejas Rotary Association along with the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Committee jointly organized the Pongal festival celebrations at the Thirumoorthy Hills. The main events at the celebration were the traditional Valli Kummi Aatam, horse cart and bullock cart procession.


Tirupur: Thirumoorthy Hills is one of the most important tourist destinations in Tirupur district, near Udumalpet. Here, the Tourism Development Department celebrated the Millet Pongal festival with great pomp and gaiety.



Udumalai Royal Arima Sangam and Udumalai Tejas Rotary Association along with the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Committee jointly organized the Pongal festival celebrations at the Thirumoorthy Hills.



The main events at the celebration were the traditional Valli Kummi Aatam, horse cart and bullock cart procession.



Thousands of tourists and the general public, along with their families, enthusiastically participated in the Pongal festival, and revelled in all the events, especially the traditional Valli Kummi Aatam.

The District Tourism Department Officer Anandan, Tahsildar Kannamani, District Tourism Coordinator, Mywadi Vivekananda Vidyalaya Founder Murthy, Udumalai Tejas Rotary Association President Sathyam Babu, SM Travels Nagaraj, Thali Perurakshi President Udhayakumar and others were present on the occasion.
