Woman killed, another injured as private bus mows them down near Kinathukadavu

A woman was killed and another injured in an accident at Chentranpalayam near Kinathukadavu when a private bus was speeding and trying to overtake another bus.


Coimbatore: Sivalingam , is a resident of from Kothavadi near Kinathukadavu. His wife is Angathal. The couple has a mentally challenged son named Muniyappan.

Angathal along with her son Muniyappan tried to cross the road near Chentranpalayam section on Pollachi-Coimbatore road, when a private bus mowed them down.

While Angathal died on the spot Muniyappan, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Pollachi government hospital in an ambulance.

The Kinathukadavu police, who reached the spot, recovered the body of Angathal and sent for post-mortem.

A case has been registered against the drivers of the private buses, Santhosh Kumar and Senthil Kumar, who speeded up and caused the accident.
