Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji garlanded Thanthai Periyar’s statue at Gandhipuram and paid floral tributes on the occasion of the late leader’s 49th death anniversary.
Coimbatore: The 49th death anniversary of Father Periyar is being observed today (December 24). On this occasion, leaders and party cadres are garlanding the statues and photographs of Periyar across the state.

In the city, Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji garlanded the statue of Periyar at Periyar Padipakam at Gandhipuram.

Karthik North district secretary Thondamuthur Ravi, south district secretary, Thalapathy Murugesan, corporation mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, deputy mayor Vetrichelvan, Thanthai Dravida Periyar Kazhagam general secretary, K Ramakrishnan and DMK corporators and DMK office-bearers participated in large numbers.
