Four men arrested for smuggling and selling ganja at different places near Thudiyalur in Coimbatore; 2.5 kg ganja seized

In a raid conducted at three different places in Coimbatore district, the police arrested four persons involved in the sale and smuggling of ganja. A car and 2.5 kg of ganja were seized from them.


Coimbatore: Based on a tip-off that ganja is being sold in areas under the Thudiyalur police station limits in Coimbatore, a police team led by the Thudiyalur Police Sub-Inspector, Guruchandra Vadivel conducted a vehicle check at the Vellakinar area. The team stopped a luxury car passing by and conducted a thorough check.

During the search, it was discovered that about 1.100 kg of ganja packets were stored in the car. Following this, the police arrested the car driver Surya from Chinnavedampatti and Anbarasu and a call-taxi driver from Valparai who were smuggling ganja. The car and ganja packets were seized from them.

Similarly, a man who was standing in a suspicious manner near Kalpana Theatre in Kavundampalayam was caught by the police. It was revealed that he was Uday Chandran of Mettupalayam and was also involved in the sale of ganja. Following this, the police arrested him and seized 1.100 kg of ganja from his possession.

Similarly, the police have arrested a youth who was standing in a suspicious manner in the Kanuvai bus stop area in Coimbatore and interrogated him. At that time, it was revealed that Abdul Rahman, a resident of the same locality, was involved in the sale of ganja. Following this, the police arrested him and seized around 350 grams of ganja from his possession and produced him in Court and sent him to jail.

Four persons have thus been arrested for their involvement in the smuggling and sale of ganja at three different places in Coimbatore district.
