Worker grievously injured in fight in front of TASMAC outlet, succumbs in hospital

A labourer, who sustained grievous injuries after being attacked by a gang in front of a liquor shop near Malumichampatti, succumbed to his injuries. The Chettipalayam police are examining CCTV footages for vital clues.

Prabhakaran (39), was a resident of Malumichampatti Anbu Nagar in Coimbatore. He was married and has two daughters.

Yesterday, he had visited a TASMAC shop along with his friends.. It was said that Prabhakaran's friend picked up a quarrel with a five-member gang, who were standing outside the liquor bar. Later, after some time, Prabhakaran left from there in a two-wheeler with two of his friends. Similarly, the gang left the bar in a car.

At that time, the gang which went in the car complained the two wheeler riders did not give way to them. While Gnanaprakash,and Thamilselvan escaped from the scene, Prabhakaran was targeted by the gang.

Prabhakaran was pushed down and gang attacked him with a coconut frond. They also picked up a cement stone lying there and hit it on his head. Then, the gang members fled the scene..



Prabhakaran, who was seriously injured in the incident, had been admitted to the Coimbatore government hospital. He was admitted to the intensive care unit However he succumbed to his injuries.
