Coimbatore Municipal Corporation employee participates in sports competition for differently - abled persons held in Thailand

Kanniyappan Arumugam, an employee of Coimbatore Municipal Corporation (East Zone), who participated in the International Para Bowling Championship in Bangkok was elated at representing India.



Coimbatore: The International Para-Bowling championship for the differently - abled was held at Bangkok in Thailand from November 28 to December 3.



More than 300 players from 16 countries participated in the tournament, while 12 represented India. One person from Madurai in Tamil Nadu and Kanniyappan Arumugam, an employee of Coimbatore Corporation (East Zone) participated in the event.



"I am very happy to have represented India in the tournament held in Bangkok. I participated in the individual and doubles category in the B9-categories and finished 13th in these tournaments," exulted Arumugam.



"I will continue to try to participate in international competitions and create more records in future and for this I am planning to attend special coaching classes in Chennai and Bengaluru," he added.
