The odyssey, which commenced from Coimbatore on 6 two-wheelers would end in Kathmandu in Nepal. The 14-day-long vehicle campaign will cover a total distance of 7,000 km and create awareness in schools and colleges along the way.

Speaking on the occasion, Volunteer and Cyber Crime Consultant Shankar Subramanian said, "Cyber crimes against women are on the rise in the current era. In particular, cyber criminals target women and misrepresent them by posting morphed photographs of women in various mobile apps.

"We have planned to conduct various awareness programmes to create awareness among women in this regard. As we travel from Coimbatore to Nepal we would create awareness by putting up banners and distributing leaflets in towns and villages.. We are planning to create awareness in schools and colleges on the 7000 km journey route," Shankar Subramanyam said.

"Awareness is very important to prevent cyber crimes against women. Social media is also a place for cyber criminals. Women should come forward to lodge a complaint without any hesitation to the police boldly, instead of getting trapped in the web of criminal activities" Shankar further said.
