Tirupur Police bust Ganja smuggling racket and arrest six member gang, weapons including daggers seized

The police have arrested a six-member gang that was smuggling ganja from Andhra Pradesh into Tiruppur in a goods - carrier auto and seized nine kg of ganja and weapons including daggers. The goods-carrier auto was also seized.



Tirupur: The City Police have received information that ganja is being smuggled from Andhra Pradesh into Tirupur. Based on this, the City Special Cell police were engaged in intensive vehicle checking near Muthanampalayam.



When they stopped a suspiciouly moving goods carrier auto rickshaw and checked it for any contraband items, the police stumbled upon about nine kilograms of ganja and weapons, including a dagger, which were found in the auto - carrier..



The Police arrested all the six persons travelling in the auto including Jebaraj of Muthanampalayam in Tiruppur, Raja of Karattangadu, Deenadayalan, Balakrishnan, Sudhan of Chettipalayam and Lakshmanan of Veerapandi.

During interrogation, they arrested persons revealed that they had procured the contraband from Andhra Pradesh and was planning to supply it in Tiruppur district..

The police are also on the lookout for two absconding persons involved in ganja smuggling case.
