Cable TV Operators Association submits petition to District collector, demand setting up of welfare board

While Cable TV operators have been submitting petitions to all the District collectorates across Tamil Nadu, the Tamil Nadu Cable TV Operators Association (TCOA) has also demanded a three- point charter of demands including setting up of welfare board for them.



Coimbatore: Members of the Tamil Nadu Cable TV Operators' Public Welfare Association, led by its District President Zaheer, submitted a petition to the District collector urging to fulfill three point charter of demands.



The three vital demands included that notices claiming analog dues should be waived off, stopping asking of money for the set-up boxes that were provided free of cost to customers and constituting a welfare board for the benefit of cable TV operators.



The petition was submitted on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Cable TV Operators' Public Welfare Association to press for the three main demands.

After submitting the petition, the Cable TV Operators' Association President said, "The Cable TV Operators Association has been submitting petitions at the District Collectorates across Tamil Nadu to press for these three point charter of demands.

"Since March 2017, when the analog signal has expired, cable TV operators have been collecting money as arrears.The Government of Tamil Nadu is taking steps to collect the full amount from the operators for the set-top boxes which are not functioning after providing them free set-top boxes" he said.

"This should be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu should take appropriate action in this regard. We are also being harassed by the police and revenue department. The District Collector should immediately consider their petition and find a suitable solution" Zaheer said
