Car catches fire on road near Hope College signal in Coimbatore; No casualties

Even as smoke engulfed the front part of the car near Hope College signal on Avinashi Road, the occupants of the car managed to escape but had a narrow escape since immediately thereafter the car caught fire.



Coimbatore: Joshua hails from Neelikonampalayam in Coimbatore and works as an ATM field officer. At around 11.30 pm on Thursday night, Joshua was driving on Avinashi Road in his car, along with his wife and children.

Near Hope College signal, smoke suddenly engulfed the front of the car. Joshua immediately parked the car on the side of the road and got out of the car quickly along with his family. After a while, the car caught fire.



The Peelamedu fire brigade who received information on the mishap fought hard to finally douse the flames that was engulfing the car. A major casualty was averted due to the passengers getting out of the car immediately.
