Landslides in 5 places destroy road leading to Adivasi village due to heavy rains near Coonoor

Due to heavy rains in and around the Nilgiris district, trees are falling and landslides are occurring on the rural roads. Anaipalam, an Adivasi village has lost connectivity because of consistent landslides



The Nilgiris: Several districts in Tamil Nadu have been receiving heavy rains due to a low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, schools and colleges in some districts have been closed.

It has been predicted that there will be continuous rain for the next 24 hours.



The impact of northeast monsoon is widespread in the Nilgiris district. While the impact of rain continues to continue in Coonoor and Kotagiri areas, due to heavy rains in Coonoor and surrounding areas, trees are falling and landslides are occurring on the rural roads.

They are being retrieved immediately on behalf of the district administration.



Landslides occurred at more than five places on the road from Coonoor to Anaipallam Adivasi village. As a result, adivasi people are unable to go.

The President, Vice President and officials of Ulikkal Town Panchayat, who rushed to the spot on receiving this information, are actively engaged in the restoration of the road with the help of Jcp.
