Drone cameras to be deployed to monitor crimes in Coimbatore - City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan

On behalf of the DG Institute of Drones, a training camp on how to use drone cameras was conducted for coimbatore police personnel. City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan felicitated the police personnel who performed well in the training and presented them with certificates.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police Commissioner has taken a new initiative to ensure that such incidents do not take place in the city and to take precautionary measures in the city.

Accordingly, a two-day training camp was conducted by the DG Institute of Drones in Coimbatore for the police personnel on the use of drone cameras as a special training programme for the police personnel.



In this training, 20 police personnel in the city were trained by skilled professionals on the importance of proper operation of drone cameras and the use of related technologies.

City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan handed over the certificates to the police personnel who completed their training at a function held at coimbatore police grounds.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “drone cameras are increasingly being used in Coimbatore city to keep an eye on vehicles involved in traffic violations, law and order problems and crowded areas.

The police personnel are being trained on the applications in the drone camera and how to handle the new type of modern drones. This technology can also be used to enable the police to reach places where they cannot go in some areas.

And with the increasing use of drone camera in the police department in the current modern technology. More police personnel will be given training in this regard.”
