Coimbatore Car Blast: Special Cell Police arrest five more persons in connection with the case

Mohammed Talka, 25, Mohammad Azharuddin, 23, (both from Ukkadam) Mohammed Riyaz, 27, Firoz Ismail, 27, and Mohammad Nawaz Ismail, 26, (all three from G.M. Nagar) area have all been arrested.


Coimbatore: A man named Jamesha Mubin was killed when a cylinder exploded in a car on Kottai Easwaran Koil Road in Coimbatore. The police were investigating whether the victim, Jamesha Mubin, died in an accident or while attempting a blast.

In this case, nails, balls, bullets and two cylinders were found in the car in which Jamesha Mubin was travelling.

The chemical raw materials for the manufacture of country-made bombs were also seized at his residence. The police suspected whether he had attempted a bomb blast.

The Special Cell police conducted a thorough investigation in Ukkadam and GM Nagar. Who was the person who helped with the car? What is the background of Mubin? An investigation is underway to find out if Mubin was linked in any organisation.

City police brought the entire city under the security cordon using CRPF. Vehicle checks are going on in full swing in the metropolitan areas.

Based on the investigation, five more persons were arrested in connection with the gas cylinder explosion case in a Maruti car near the Kottai Sangameshwaran temple.

Heavy vehicle checks are underway in Ukkadam and Town hall area. The city police are engaged in intensive vehicle check under the orders of Commissioner Balakrishnan at railway stations.

The CRPF personnel are also with them. Top officials are also personally inspecting the areas where intensive checks are being carried out.
