Former captain of Indian Cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Singh Rawat has applied for Arms License citing threat to her life. She has applied for permission to keep a pistol or 0.32 revolver.
In her application, she mentioned that there is a possibility of threat to her life as most of the time she is alone at home. Even while stepping out of the house for personal work, she is alone. Hence, she has asked the authorities to grant her Arms License without any delay.
Earlier in 2010, MS Dhoni was provided arms license for weapons of prohibited bore to purchase a 9 mm pistol. He already had a license for weapons of non-prohibited bore. The cricketer had applied for prohibited bore license in August 2008 as he wanted to purchase 9 mm pistol. This license is issued by the central home ministry at the recommendation of the state government.
Jharkhand’s home department had sent its recommendation to central home ministry in December 2008 but the license was delayed as the home ministry sought some clarifications.
