New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday met Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday met Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The meeting between the two leaders reportedly lasted for around 30 minutes. Reports claimed that the Congress president enquired about former Bihar CM’s health.
Yadav was admitted to the hospital on March 29. He is undergoing treatment for various ailments related to the heart and kidney. Earlier he was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science in Ranchi on March 17 after he complained of uneasiness at Birsa Munda jail.
Notably, Lalu has been in the jail at Ranchi since December 23, 2017, after being convicted in the Deogarh treasury case. On March 24, the special CBI court in Ranchi had sentenced him to 14 years in prison seven under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and seven under the Prevention of Corruption Act in Dumka Treasury Case, one of the four cases in the Fodder Scam.
Dumka treasury case is related to alleged withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka treasury when Prasad was the chief minister of Bihar.
