Internet Loses it Over Pak Groom’s Shaadi Outfit Worth Rs 25 Lakhs

The gold obsession is quite prevalent among people in the Indian Subcontinent. Known for its opulent weddings and the many excesses we indulge in during our shaadis, the gold obsession is huge, as these are the only occasions where people can showcase it.

Taking the whole gold obsession to the next-level, a groom in Pakistan spent almost Rs 25 lakh Pakistan Rupees on his wedding outfit. Hafiz Salman Shahid, a businessman from Lahore, wore a blingy gold suit to his Walima, paired with a matching tie embellished with gold crystals. That’s not the end of the outfit, the groom matched the golden glory of his suit and tie with shoes made of real gold.

As per an Instagram post, the suit cost the groom 63000 Pakistan Rupees as it had crystals and jewels embedded in it. The shoes made with 32 tolas (320 grams) of real gold, cost a whopping PKR 17 lakh. And, the crystal tie made with 10 tolas of gold cost him PKR 5 lakh. In total, the Shaadi outfit cost him 25 lakh Pakistan Rupees.

When asked about the outrageous reception outfit, Hafiz Salman Shahid (the groom) told the reporter, “I always wanted to wear gold shoes. People wear it around their neck or as a crown. I wanted to tell people that wealth is like the dirt on your feet, it should stay there”.

The groom’s exorbitant outfit is doing rounds on the Internet and getting mixed reactions from the people. With one person on Instagram saying, “One can pay for a surgery by selling one shoe”. Another wrote, “I would like to see what the bride wore if the groom had such nakhrey (tantrums)!”
