According to the Statement of the Honble Chief Minister, as per Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Rule 110 of Agriculture Department, for the current year 2016-17, a subsidy of 31 crores and 6 lakhs have been allotted towards mechanisation of the agricultural department.
The subsidy aims to fulfil the current requirements of the farmers by providing agricultural equipments to yield more production and save time.
The farmers, under tribal category would be provided with a subsidy of 50% and the regular farmers have been allotted a 40% subsidy. Tractors, fertiliser sprayers, drip irrigation system, power drillers, multi- crop threshers and all farming related machineries can be purchased by the farmers through the subsidy scheme. The Coimbatore district farmers have been allotted with a subsidy of Rs. 1 crore and 86 lakhs for purchasing farming equipments and machineries.
Interested farmers are requested to register their names with the Agricultural Engineering departments at their districts. The following documents are required to been attached along with their application forms:
- 2 passport photos
- Xerox copy of Aadhar card
- Chitta and Adangal document copy
- Certification of Micro and small farmers
- Community certificate
- Blueprint of the farm
- If the machinery is related to tractor, then the tractor’s registration certificate needs to be annexed.
After receiving the machinery, the subsidy would be credited to the farmers bank accounts directly. For more details on the subsidy and protocols to be followed, the farmers are advised to contact:
