Coimbatore: The District Collector has announced that a special camp for aiding farmers procure loans for setting up micro irrigation at their farms will be held at the office of Revenue Inspector here on January 19, 2020.
Coimbatore: The District Collector has announced that a special camp for aiding farmers procure loans for setting up micro irrigation at their farms will be held at the office of Revenue Inspector here on January 19, 2020.
The primary agricultural societies will be providing loans for farmers to set up micro irrigation. At the special camp, revenue officials will guide the farmers on required documentation for the loan.
District Collector K. Rajamani through a release has requested the farmers to make use of the camp to set-up micro-irrigation system in their agricultural lands and benefit.
"Micro Irrigation Scheme in Coimbatore District - PMKSY (Per Drop More Crop) is aimed at increasing crop production in each drop of water. The initiative is supported by the Department of Agriculture and Horticulture in which 12,683 hectares of land will be set with drip irrigation at a subsidy of Rs. 61.60 crore", the release said.
100% subsidy for small scale farmers
"All small, marginal and large farmers can benefit from this scheme and obtain government-approved subsidy. For, small scale farmers, drip irrigation can be set up at 100 per cent subsidy upto 6 acres and drip irrigation to other farmers will be given at 75 per cent subsidy (upto 12.5 acres). Apart from this agriculture co-operative bank loans can also be availed", the Collector noted.
Farmers are required to submit the following documents:
1) Chitta
2) Land Map
3) Ration Card
4) Joint Map
5) Small scale Farmer Certificate ( applicable for only Smallholder Farmers)
7) Cultivation Proof
8) land ownership documents.
