Coimbatore: The Central Government plans to conduct a survey on informal industries such as roadside and residential businesses, as well as on-going businesses in informal enterprises.
Surveyors and supervisors have been appointed for this audit. They will visit all houses and businesses to gather information about the existing businesses. Since 1977, there have been six such surveys. The economic survey is currently being held for the seventh time.
This survey began in Tamil Nadu on October 9 and was inaugurated by Governor, Banwari Lal Purohit. The survey will begin on October 24 in Coimbatore. The surveyors who come to homes and businesses for this survey will collect information such as name, age, social class, gender, occupation, credit, capital, number, card number, source of investment, number and email address.
This information is recorded by a handheld laptop or mobile application. The information will then be sent to the Central Statistics Agency as soon as it is registered. A separate password is given to surveyors who record information. Therefore, all public information will be kept confidential.
The supervisors will verify the information that the surveyor records. They are then inspected by the second stage supervisors and forwarded to the Government. All supervisors in the second phase are Government officials. The Government has decided to conduct this survey through the Common Service Centre.
