Coimbatore: The District Collector K. Rajamani appealed to the members of the public to voice their comments and opinions on the sanitary status of the village panchayats by downloading the mobile app, namely Swachh Survekshan Grameen App.

The annual rural sanitation survey is being carried out to rank the districts and states on the qualitative and quantitative sanitation parameters by an accredited agency.
"The public can post their comments on the sanitary status of their respective village panchayats by downloading a mobile app called Swachh Survekshan Grameen to enable Coimbatore district to top the list in best performing districts", said District Collector K. Rajamani.
According to the District Collector “States and districts in India are to be ranked based on the quality of existing sanitation and improvement in sanitary infrastructure of the village panchayats according to the survey done using Swachh Survekshan Grameen app.
Adding that “In 228 Village Panchayats in Coimbatore district, various projects for augmenting sanitation and hygiene, toilet usage and solid waste management have been implemented
In the liquid waste management scheme, which is in place 200-250 liters of water is being saved through Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
The District Collector appealed to the members of the public to share their opinions on the health status of Coimbatore district by using the mobile app Swachh Survekshan Grameen -2019 and to enable Coimbatore district to emerge as topper.
