Coimbatore: Karpagam College of Engineering organized a one-week orientation program for first- year B.E. or B.Tech. students from September 14 to September 23, 2023.
On September 19, 2023, around 600 students from B.E. CT, CD, CY, and B.Tech. AD programs participated. Santhamani, Renowned Public Speaker, Coimbatore, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The program starts with a prayer song, and following that, Dr. V. Kumar Chinnaiyan, the principal of Karpagam College of Engineering, felicitates the gathering.
The welcome address was then given by Dr. Manikandan, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and the Chief Guest was introduced by Dr. Rajeshwari, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Technology. After that, Dr. V. Kumar Chinnaiyan, the principal of Karpagam College of Engineering, honored the chief guest with a memento as a token of appreciation.
Santhamani praised the Tamil language at the outset of her speech. She also talked about how the classroom defines a student's life. She continued by saying that teachers always model the best course of action for students to follow in order to lead wealthy life and that teachers also inspire their students to work very hard in order to succeed in life. She advised the students to treat parents and teachers with complete respect. Finally, she required that the students select a goal and create a plan to reach it.
Following the address by the Chief Guest, Dr. Jai Ganesh, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Design gave a vote of appreciation to conclude the event.
