PSGR Krishnammal College for Women organises an international Interdisciplinary virtual conference on Breakthroughs and Approaches in Contemporary Scientific Research

Around 325 participants from India and abroad took part in this conference.



Coimbatore: A 3 day International Interdisciplinary Virtual Conference on Breakthroughs and Approaches in Contemporary Scientific Research was organized by the PG & Research Departments of Chemistry and Physics at the PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore.



Under thecollaboration with the Departments of Physics and Chemistry of the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, during 17th - 19th February.



The Inauguration began with the welcome address by Dr R Nandini, Chairperson, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women which was followed by the release of the conference souvenir.



Around 325 participants from India and abroad took part in this conference where the felicitations were offered by Prof. Thomas J Lyimo, Principal, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, University of Dar es Salaam.



The introductory remarks were given by Dr Kessy F Kilulya, Senior Lecturer & Head, Department of Chemistry, University of Dar es Salaam which was followed by the inaugural address by Prof. Muthupandian Ashokkumar, Assistant Deputy Vice-Chancellor, International University ofMelbourne, Australia.



During the conference invited talks were delivered by Dr RL Gardas, Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, Dr Nuru Mlyuka, Senior Lecturer and Head, Department of Physics, University of Dar es Salaam,Dr. Grace A Kinunda, Senior Lecturer, Department of Chemistry, University of Dar es Salaam,Dr Kessy F Kilulya, Senior Lecturer & Head, Department of Chemistry, University of Dar es Salaam,Dr Lwitiko P Mwakyusa, Lecturer, Department of Physics, University of Dar es Salaam, Dr Vijayshankar Asokan, Researcher, Department of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden,Dr Smagul Karazhanov, Senior Researcher, Solar Energy Department Institute for Energy Technology, Norway, and Dr R Nandhakumar, Associate Professor, Department of Applied Chemistry, Karunya Institute of Technology & Science (Deemed to be University).



Around 44 oral and 27 poster presentations were made by the participants and which was evaluated by Dr Clarence Anthon Mgina, Lecturer, Department of Chemistry, University of Dar es Salaam,Dr N Ponpandian, Professor and Head, Department of Nanoscience and Technology, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Dr S Ponnuswamy, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry, Government Arts College, Coimbatore, Dr Ramesh Subramani, Dean-Research, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Dr V Raj, Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry, Periyar University, Salem and Dr R Vashantha, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Anna Adarsh College for Women, Chennai.



The valediction ceremony began with the welcome address by Dr S Nirmala, Principal, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women and the valedictory address was delivered by Prof S Balakumar, Director, National Centre for Nanoscience & Nanotechnology at the University of Madras, Chennai.
