Ford is planning to give a major update to its hatchback Ka, which is also known as the Figo in the Indian market. The company has started testing the Figo and new set images of the test mule have emerged from the test site in Brazil. It is expected that the hatchback will get updates on the exterior and interior, however, there are not many visible details as the test mule is covered with heavy camouflage. According to spy shots, the facelift Figo will get the new set of headlamps, refreshed bumper at the front and at the rear and black alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, it is expected that the hatchback might get touch screen infotainment system and a new central console. Under the hood, the India bound Figo will be powered by the same set of three engine options, a 1.2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. It is also expected that the facelift Figo might introduce a new 1.5 litre 3-cylinder Dragon family petrol engine with an automatic transmission as an optional.

The first model is expected to be a hatchback that will compete with the likes of Hyundai i20 and Maruti Suzuki Baleno. It is also expected that the premium cars under a new platform will come with Dragon family engine. Ford is expected to launch the 2018 Figo by next year in India and it will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10.
