100-day program: Palladam Panchayat Union office besieged for offering work only for few days
Tirupur: More than 50 beneficiaries petitioned and protested, claiming that in the 100-day program they were provided work only for a limited number of days.
Hundreds of workers are working on the 100-day program in various villagesincluding Manikyapuram, Rasagavundampalayam and Ammapalayam under the Palladam Union Manikapuram Panchayat in Tirupur district.

There are complaints that only a few villages provide 100-day jobs to certain people and only 10 to 15-day jobs to others. More than 50 beneficiaries of the 100-day program, led by Panchalingam, executive director of the All India Farmers' Union, gathered at the Palladam Panchayat Union office and staged a sit-in protest demanding full 100-day employment without any discrimination.

Following this, a petition was submitted to the Regional Development Officer Ramesh. The incident, in which beneficiaries besieged the Palladam union office and petitioned to work all day on the 100-day program near Palladam, has caused a stir.
