Nithya (40) was a sanitary worker who lost her husband and lived as a widow with her cousin Senthilkumar. Nithya's brother who had called her mobile phone on Thursday grew suspicious when she did not answer the call. He went to the house where she had been staying in only to find it locked. With the help of the neighbours, when he opened the house, they found Nithya in a decomposed state. Vadavalli police have seized the body and are investigating.
During the investigation, the police discovered that Senthil Kumar had died on July 21 and was found in a drunken state in the border area of Ukkadam police station. The Vadavalli police are investigating if both deaths are connected.
