Pollachi: A middle school in Vadugapalayam Municipality in Pollachi has been pelted stones at, by the mysterious gang, and the police have launched a hunt.
Mysterious persons, entered the Pollachi Vadugapalayam middle school, damaged the toilets, tables, and chairs in the classroom hurling stones. More than 200 students are studying in the Municipal Middle School.An awareness meeting of the school management committee was held on Sunday, and the school was to be started again on Monday for the week.
When the school opened yesterday morning, there were stones scattered all over in classrooms, miscreants pelted stones, and damaged items including tables, chairs, and toilets.

The school management informed the municipal authorities and the police.Municipal Council President Shyamala Navaneethakrishnan, Commissioner Dhanu Murthy, and Pollachi west police officials rushed to the spot and inspected the school.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang had entered the school through the rear, at night and pelted stones. The school Principal lodged a complaint at the police station yesterday regarding the damage to school classrooms. Based on this, the police have registered a case and are investigating. Pollachi municipality president Shyamala Navaneethakrishnan said that steps have been taken by the police to nab the persons who damaged the municipal school. She ensured that steps would be taken to construct compound walls of government school buildings and a security guard will be appointed at night to prevent further such incidents.
