Coimbatore: A video of a young couple crying for help while being taken in a car on Avinashi road has been surfacing on social media.
A newlywed couple cried for help while travelling in a car at Lakshmi Mills Signal on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore. Video footage of trying to push them into the car and them screaming for their rescue is now going viral.
Hearing their cries, the other motorists stopped the car at Lakshmi Mills Junction and took them out. Upon interrogations, the couple revealed that they were being kidnapped and threatened brandishing a knife. The situation became tense after the two cried and fell at the feet of the public asking for help.
Immediately, the police personnel who were on duty there blocked the vehicle. They conducted an inquiry. It has come to light that the two got married two days ago and now the girl's family is trying to kidnap them. According to sources, the duo has now been taken to the Race Course police station for questioning.
