Traffic diverted in Coimbatore for CM’s visit

The city police and the traffic department has announced certain diversion in the routes for traffic as the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister will be visiting on Monday.


Coimbatore: The District Police Department has announced that traffic will be diverted in Coimbatore on Monday ahead of the Chief Minister’s arrival.

As per the announcement,

Heavy vehicles are not allowed to operate within Coimbatore city from 6:00 am tomorrow till further notice.Vehicles from Avinashi Road should pass through Thottipalayam Junction Viriyampalayam and Sathi Road through Kaikolapalayam.

Traffic from Avinashi Road should reach Sathi road through Goldwins Junction, Housing Unit, Kalapatti Road via Saravanampatti. Vehicles coming from Avinashi Road will be operated to the Mettupalayam road through SNR College road via Nava India Road, Ramakrishna College, 100 ft Road Flyover.

Buses from Trichy Road should pass through Sungam to Classic Tower Junction, Government Hospital, Lanka corner, Goods Shed Road, Old Flyover, Nanjappa Road to Gandhipuram Bus Stand.

The vehicles via Avinashi Road old flyover should take a right turn at the JM Bakery junction and reach Trichy Road via Red Cross railway station. Vehicles from Avinashi Road are allowed to pass through the guest house to Sungam and Trichy Road. However, vehicles coming from Sungam and Puliyakulam area are not allowed to pass through the guest house located in Circuit Road.

The vehicles shall pass through DIG office road and reach Puliyakulam via Redfield and take a left to the kidney centre and reach Avinashi road as an alternative route.

Vehicles should not pass on LIC road. Vehicles from Central Bus Stand to Salem, Tirupur, Avinashi and Palladam shall pass through Gandhipuram via RV Roundabout, College of Women's Technology, Mani’s School Junction and reach the Avinashi Road through the Lakshmi Mills Junction.

Buses and vehicles to reach Central Bus Stand via Avinashi Road should not take the route through GKM, Anna Statue, LIC road and instead take a right at Lakshmi Mill Junction and go to Gandhipuram Central Bus Stand.
