Mentally unstable woman murders grandson injures granddaughter and flees from scene of crime in Coimbatore

A mentally unstable woman attacked her twin grandchildren while the parents were away and fled the place In the incident the male infant died and the female infant is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.


Coimbatore: The rural police are on the lookout for a woman who murdered her grandson and injured her granddaughter in Coimbatore and fled the place.

Bhaskaran, (31) is from Kavundampalayam, is an engineer is married to Aishwarya. The couple gave birth to twin children, a boy named Aryan and a girl child name Arya who is three months old. Bhaskaran left for work as usual, and Aishwarya went to fetch medicines along with her brother, leaving the children in the care of her mother.

The grandmother who assured to take care of the children, attacked them furiously when nobody was home. She fled the place leaving the children locked inside the house with injuries. The children were rushed to a private hospital. The doctors declared the boy dead on arrival and the three month infant girl is undergoing treatment.

The woman who attacked the children is reported to be mentally unstable for a long time. Police arrived at the crime scene and are searching for the accused named Shanti.



As part of the investigation the police team is checking the CCTV footage to nab her.

Police stated that Shanti will be lodged at a psychiatric center for treatment after being produced at the court.
