Coimbatore: The Dean of Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) stated that patients post Covid-19 treatment complained of vascular and neurological complications.

Dr. Nirmala, the Dean of CMCH stated that the number of patients developing vascular and neurological complications post Covid treatment, seem to be on the rise in the hospital. Health experts warn that these complications could be life-threatening if not treated.

However, doctors also noted that the complications were mostly witnessed among elders and those who have comorbidities. “Many have their livers damaged due to these complications and we identified many cases to be of persons within the age group of 30,” added the Dean of CMCH. Public health experts also opine that this can become severe and can affect kidneys.

Though youth within the age group of 30 years seem to be more affected, it was stressed that those at risk were mostly those with drinking and smoking habits.
