Applications invited for Kalpana Chawla Award for Women for Bravery
Coimbatore: The Kalpana Chawla Awards are presented by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to women who have been courageous and are known for their brave deeds at every Independence Day celebration in the state. The Government of Tamil Nadu has issued a press release inviting applications from women for the 'Kalpana Chawla' Award.
The winner of the award is given a cheque for Rs. 1 lakhs and a medal. Detailed notes along with relevant details and documents of women applicants should be sent through the concerned District Collector or through the website awards.tn.gov.in to 'Secretary of State, Public Sector, General Secretariat, Chennai - 600 009' before June 30. Applications not received within the required time period will be rejected. Eligible candidates will be selected by a Government-appointed selection committee.
