Two individuals who went fishing at a private pond in Valukamparai near Madukkarai in Coimbatore accidentally stepped on an electric wire and died on the spot.
Coimbatore: Two individuals who went fishing at a private pond in Valukamparai near Madukkarai in Coimbatore stepped on an electric wire in the pond and tragically died on the spot.
During the investigation it was revealed that both Rasu and Mallika were from Kozhikode and Meenatchipuram in Kerala, and working in the farm of Ramaraj. After work, both Malika and Rasu went to a pond for fishing.
Rasu who stepped into the pond first, stepped on an electric wire in the pond and died instantly.
Malika who had no clue about Rasu being electrocuted rushed into the pond to save Rasu but sadly lost her life too.
Madukkarai police officials who arrived at the scene informed the Kinathukadavu police station since it was under the Meenakshipuram jurisdiction. The police recovered the bodies and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. They have registered a case regarding the tragic incident and are investigating further.
