He assured to cooperate and work with the new government towards his Free TN Temples movement
Coimbatore: Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is the founder of the Isha Foundation in Coimbatore. He spoke to the media today after casting his vote.
He said, "Election is a process of transforming the state without violence and bloodshed, in which all people should vote responsibly regardless of caste, religion or party."
The 16th Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu are being held today and Jaggi Vasudev cast his vote at a polling booth set up at the Government Tribes school in Muttathuvayal.
Sadhguru told the reporters, "Elections are not just an event, they are one of the most important events in the history of our humanity. Because elections are a system in which governments change without any riots or struggles. If we look at the history of our humanity before this has never happened anywhere before. If the regime and the government want to change, many life loss will take place. But now we do this by voting. So this is very important and the highest honour for an individual. Everyone is entitled only to one vote. So in this democracy, we have to understand that we are all equal. I urge everyone to take responsibility for this."
He also added, "And when we vote we don’t look at what our caste, religion, the party is, who will bring progress to our state. If you are confident that he will run Tamil Nadu successfully and do what the people want, you should vote for him."
Responding to a question about his #FreeTNTemples movement, Sadhguru said, "It is a successful movement with approximately 3.5 crore people supporting it. Now all the parties in Tamil Nadu are talking about this to some extent due to this movement and the two important parties have taken some steps. They are saying that they will give the necessary money to renovate the temples and they will do what is necessary. But what can the government do? Only buildings can be repaired and it is not the job that government employees do it. If the temples are to be alive it must be in the hands of the devotees who are overflowing with devotion from the heart."
Sadhguru also assured that no matter which party comes to government next, he will work with them and aim to bring this to an end in the next five years.
