Coimbatore: CPI protested in Coimbatore demanding to withdraw the Farm Bills-2020.
Opposition parties have been vehemently opposing the introduction of the new agriculture bill by the central government.
They accuse that the bills would turn farmers into workers and hand over Indian agriculture to corporates, which will lead to the complete destruction of the market system and the collapse of the farming community.
New agricultural laws were passed in both the assemblies. All Federation of Farmers' Associations, the DMK and the Congress, have been protesting against this.
Road roko protests are being held across Tamil Nadu on behalf of the Communist Party of India against the new agricultural bill. As part of it, CPI cadres blocked the roads in front of the Coimbatore South Taluk Office, Agricultural University and Madukkarai Taluk Office.
They chanted slogans condemning the central and state governments and demanded withdrawal of the farm bills.
