Auto drivers petition Tirupur District Collector for relief supplies and permission to carry three passengers.
Tirupur: Auto drivers from Koduvai petitioned the Tirupur District Collector requesting relief assistance and permission to carry three passengers per trip.
More than 25 auto drivers are plying their trade in the Koduvai area in Tirupur for the past 10 years. Due to the lockdown, the auto drivers suffered from a loss of livelihood and considering the impact this had on their lives, they requested the government to provide relief assistance to them.
Further, they also said that stipulation of carrying a single passenger per trip is not beneficial to them and therefore requested permission to carry three.
More than 20 auto drivers arrived at the Tirupur District Collectorate in their autos to submit the petition.
