Three youth were arrested for drunk driving and threatening the public who questioned them in Coimbatore, on Friday night.
Coimbatore: Three youngsters were arrested for drunken driving and for threatening the public with a knife when questioned about their activities.
The inebriated trio of Suryaprakash (23), son of Mahendran from Selvapuram North Housing Unit, Rahulraj (19), son of Murali from Ramamoorthy road from the same area, and Sabarish (21), son of Murugan from Muthusamy colony were seen riding their two-wheelers in a rash manner.
Seeing the ruckus that annoyed the public in the area, Nachimuthu (33), a resident of the area, and his friend Sarath warned Suryaprakash.
Furious at this, Suryaprakash badmouthed them before going away and fetching Mahendran and Rahulraj with the intention of picking a fight with Nachimuthu. A tussle ensued in which Sabarish had threatened Nachimuthu with a knife.
Following a complaint lodged at the Selvapuram police station, the police arrested the youngsters and imprisoned them after an inquest.
