CM continues to improve and is making gradual progress- Apollo Hospitals

In a press release, dated today, October 6 from Apollo Hospitals stated that the Chief Minister J Jayalalitha who is currently undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital continues to improve and is making gradual progress. The comprehensive treatment plan includes appropriate antibiotics, respiratory support and other allied clinical measures are being continued.

The release also stated that the CM is under observation of a panel of doctors consisting of intensivists, cardiologists, respiratory physicians, infectious disease specialists and diabetologists. Detailed lab and radiology investigations are continue sly carried out by the panel of doctors.

A team of experts from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), consisting of Dr. G. Khilani, Professor, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, Dr. Anjan Trikha, Professsor, Department of Anesthesiology and Criticla Care, Dr. Nitish Naik, Professor, Department of Cardiology had detailed delibrations yesterday, October 5 on the treatment protocols provided to the CM by specalists at Apollo Hospitals.

The team of experts from AIIMS also examined the CM and concurred with the present line of treatment provided to her. The team of experts will be available till October 7.

Dr. Richard John Beale, the international specialist and consultant who had examined and evaluated the CM on September 30, re-examined the CM today. Based on clinical examinations, the team of experts from Apollo Hospitals have drawn up a detailed medical management plan keeping in mind the CMs known history of diabetes and winter bronchitis in inclement weather. The present treatment regime includes continued respiratory support, nebulisation, drugs to decongest lungs, antibiotics, nutrition, general nursing care and supportive therapy.

The consensus of opinion of all experts is that the line of treatment given to the CM should continue and the press release also stated that she will require a longer stay in hospital.
