Car driven by Pollachi V. Jayaraman's son meets with an accident; one dead, 5 critically injured



Deputy Speaker of the Tamil Assembly Pollachi Jayaraman's son along with his colleagues encountered a gruesome accident at Perumanalur, yesterday.

Jayaraman's son Praveen (19) is a first year fashion technology student at a private college in the city. He along with his five other friends, Sureka (19) daughter of Madhan from Saibaba Colony, Mantra (19) also from Saibaba colony, Periyanayaki (18) from Chettipalayam Tiruppur, Swetha (18) from Rathinapuri, Tilak (19) from Race course, were on the way to Erode. Praveen was at the wheels of the car.

Sources state that while crossing Perumanalur, this car lost control. 

This resulted in the car crashing into the road dividers on the National Highway. Praveen’s car bounced to the other side of the divider. The impact of this crash resulted in Praveen’s car coming head-on with another car from the opposite direction that was en-route to Kerala.  

Sureka, one of his colleagues died on the spot. All four co-passengers were rushed to a private hospital. The injured are undergoing treatment and their condition is critical. The police has registered a case.
