Over 2000 cattle affected by foot and mouth disease cured by Veterinary teams: Minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan

Tiruppur : The Minister for Animal Husbandry, Udumalai Radhakrishnan stated that special veterinary medical camps have been organized in Tiruppur district, with 45 medical teams engaged in treating over 2627 cattle which have been affected by foot and mouth disease.

"Out of 2627 cattle which was affected by the disease, 2034 have been completely cured and the rest are being treated to be cured," added the Minister.

The Minister earlier participated in the inaugural of the State Athletic and Sport Meet organized by the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority in a private engineering college at Nathakadaiyur near Kangeyam.

The three-day meet comprising of 18 zones will have 3784 college students, both men and women, participating.

Track and field events including Taekwondo, boxing, fencing and other sports will be conducted at the Meet, with prizes distributed on the final day.
