Viral Video Leads to ₹10,000 Fine for Coimbatore Youth Driving Heavy Vehicle Without Licence

Coimbatore: A 20-year-old youth was fined ₹10,000 by Coimbatore City Police for driving a heavy vehicle without a valid driving licence on Thadagam Road.

The action followed a video showing the youth driving a heavy vehicle on Vadavalli - Kavuvai road that went viral on social media, prompting concerns that a minor was behind the wheel.

A police investigation revealed that the driver was 20 years old and not a minor. However, the investigation found that he did not possess a valid licence to operate a heavy vehicle.

Following the investigation, police imposed a fine of ₹10,000 for the violation and urged motorists to follow traffic rules, warning that driving heavy vehicles without a valid licence could endanger road safety.
