Coimbatore: Kovai Kutralam eco-tourism site will remain open to visitors on Monday, October 19, 2026, the Coimbatore Forest Division has announced, departing from its usual weekly closure schedule in view of the ongoing long weekend.
The decision comes as the extended holidays have drawn large numbers of nature enthusiasts to the popular waterfall destination. Responding to public demand, the Forest Department has relaxed the standard closure norm to allow tourists to enjoy the site on Monday.
However, officials said Kovai Kutralam will be closed to tourists on Wednesday, October 21, for routine maintenance work.
Meanwhile, the Sadivayal Elephant Camp, located in the Boluvampatti Forest Range, will continue to remain open for public visits as usual, even on the day Kovai Kutralam is shut for maintenance. Visitors can see the elephants during the designated visiting hours of 8.30 am to 9.30 am and 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm, subject to Forest Department regulations.
The Coimbatore Forest Division has advised tourists to take note of the revised schedule and plan their visits to Kovai Kutralam and the Sadivayal Elephant Camp accordingly.
