We The Leaders launches ‘Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Ethics and Politics’ in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: We The Leaders has launched the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Ethics and Politics at an event held at the PSG Convention Centre in Coimbatore on Thursday, October 15, marking the birth anniversary of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

Hundreds of We The Leaders volunteers and several dignitaries participated in the event and addressed the gathering.

We The Leaders Foundation, founded by K Annamalai, former Tamil Nadu BJP state president and former IPS officer, aims to develop ethical, responsible and capable leaders for public life through the newly launched centre. The initiative seeks to promote integrity, civic responsibility and informed participation in governance.

The centre will offer free, in-person training programmes for grassroots leaders, students, women and aspiring public representatives. Its curriculum will cover ethics in public life, the Indian Constitution, local governance, public policy, public finance, communication and organisational strategy, with an emphasis on practical learning and community-level problem-solving.

The training initiative is set to begin with a two-day Foundation Course, followed by a four-week Leadership Academy and a 100-day Public Problem-Solving Lab. The centre will also provide a free digital library featuring toolkits, learning resources and a glossary in Tamil and English.

Through these initiatives, We The Leaders aims to strengthen grassroots participation, empower women and young people, and develop a network of accountable leaders across Tamil Nadu, inspired by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's ideals of public service and integrity.
