Corporation Primary Students Rally for Rainwater Harvesting Through Exhibitions and Drawings

Coimbatore: With the Northeast Monsoon expected to set in within the next couple of days, the Coimbatore Corporation’s ongoing rainwater harvesting awareness campaign assumes added significance. Primary school students are helping take the message to a wider audience through drawings, competitions and creative exhibitions.

As part of the initiative, students of Ramachettipalayam Corporation Primary School in Ward 89 of the South Zone showcased creative works highlighting the importance of installing rainwater harvesting structures in residential and commercial buildings.

Students enthusiastically participated in drawing and essay competitions, as well as slogan-recitation activities. Prizes were presented to all participants in recognition of their efforts.

Corporation Assistant Executive Engineer (in-charge) Kanagaraj, Assistant Engineer Sabariraj, Education Department Supervisor Poongodi, Headmistress Kalyani, teachers and students participated in the event.

Meanwhile, rainwater harvesting structures are being developed at KV K Nagar Corporation Primary School in Ward 97 of the South Zone and Sanganoor Corporation Middle School in Ward 32 of the Central Zone.
