Two Arrested With 16g Methamphetamine Near School in Saibaba Colony; Probe On to Trace Delhi Supplier

Coimbatore: Two men were arrested for allegedly selling methamphetamine near a school in Saibaba Colony, with police seizing 16 grams of the synthetic drug during the operation.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Sub-Inspector Selvi conducted a vehicle check during which they intercepted two men who were reportedly standing near a two-wheeler under suspicious circumstances.
During a search, the police found them in possession of drugs and seized 16 grams of methamphetamine, meant for sale.
The men were identified as Vinoth Kumar, 30, from Anna Nagar in Tiruchirappalli, and Subash, 29, from Maraimalai Nagar in Kancheepuram.
According to the police, the two had been staying in Ramalingam Nagar in K.K. Pudur and on NSR Road in Saibaba Colony, respectively, and were allegedly involved in drug sales.
The police also seized a motorcycle allegedly used to transport the drug and three mobile phones. The inquiry also revealed that a Delhi-based man named Rohan was allegedly a key link in the network and had supplied the narcotics.
Saibaba Colony police registered a case and produced the two arrested men before a court before remanding them to judicial custody.
A special police team has been formed to trace and arrest the man involved in the supply.
