Over 300 Students Attend Tamil Mandram Inauguration at Karpagam College of Engineering

Coimbatore: Karpagam College of Engineering inaugurated its Tamil Mandram 2026–27 on October 7, giving students a platform to celebrate Tamil language, literature and cultural heritage while encouraging them to explore and showcase their individual talents. The inaugural ceremony was held on the college campus and was presided over by Dr Karthigaikumar, Principal of Karpagam College of Engineering. The chief guest, Nanjil Navarasu Chella Kannan, popularly known for his appearances on Vijay TV, addressed the students on the occasion. His special address focused on fostering greater interest among the younger generation in the Tamil language, its rich literary traditions and cultural heritage. As part of the programme, Chella Kannan was formally introduced and honoured during a special felicitation ceremony. Students associated with the Tamil Mandram also presented a range of performances and showcased their individual talents, adding colour to the inaugural event. Dr Swaminathan delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, organisers and participants for their presence and support. The event was attended by Dr K.M.G. Adhi Pandian, Public Relations Officer of Karpagam Educational Institutions, along with faculty members of Karpagam College of Engineering and more than 300 students, who participated in the inaugural programme. The launch of the Tamil Mandram marks an initiative by the institution to provide students with a dedicated platform to engage with Tamil language and literature while nurturing their creativity and cultural expression.
