Minister Vanni Arasu Inspects Tribal Villages in Valparai, Hears Residents’ Grievances

Coimbatore: Valparai: Social Justice Minister Vanniyarasu visited tribal settlements in the Valparai region of Coimbatore district and interacted with residents to hear their grievances and understand the challenges faced by communities living in remote forest areas.

During his visit to Palakkinaru and Nedungunru tribal settlements under the Manambolly Forest Range, the Minister met residents and participated in a Gram Sabha meeting. Residents used the opportunity to raise several issues concerning basic infrastructure and essential services.

Among their key demands was the speedy completion of houses being constructed through TAHDCO. The residents said the housing works had been under way for nearly a year and sought their early completion. They also sought improved road connectivity and other basic amenities in the tribal settlements.

The residents further urged the authorities to strengthen medical facilities at the Valparai Government Hospital, including the appointment of adequate numbers of doctors and provision of facilities such as a scanning centre.

The Minister assured the residents that their grievances would be brought to the attention of the concerned government departments and that appropriate action would be taken.

Earlier, residents of the hill settlements accorded a special welcome to the Minister. Officials from the concerned departments accompanied him during the inspection.
