Coimbatore BJP Holds 'Seva Jyoti' Rally to Mark PM Modi's 25 Years in Public Life

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a 'Seva Jyoti' rally in Thudiyalur on Wednesday to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life.Modi, who took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, completed 25 years of his journey as the head of government on Wednesday.

On the occasion, he virtually addressed BJP workers across the country at a programme organised at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. During his address, Modi said that the trust placed in him by the people throughout his political journey had been his greatest strength.

In Coimbatore, BJP functionaries and cadres gathered to watch the Prime Minister's address on an LED screen. Former MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, Kanagasabapathy, State Treasurer S.R. Sekar and district president Ramesh Kumar were among those who participated, along with hundreds of party workers. Following the screening, the participants took a pledge.
The 'Seva Jyoti' rally was subsequently held from Viswanathapuram on Mettupalayam Road to Thudiyalur, with more than 100 BJP functionaries and cadres taking part. The special invitees lit the ceremonial lamps to mark the occasion.


The party said the rally was organised to commemorate Modi's 25 years of public service, beginning with his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and continuing through his tenure as Prime Minister. The event also highlighted the party's stated focus on welfare, women's empowerment, youth development and the advancement of all sections of society.Speaking to reporters, Vanathi Srinivasan said Modi had called for India to become a developed nation by 2047. She also spoke about her experiences and said the Prime Minister's address had been watched by people across the country.
District general secretary Madan Mohan, district vice-president Thamu, State Youth Wing secretary Krishna Prasad, Farmers' Wing district president Jayasekar, Youth Wing district president Muthu Abhishek and Youth Skill Development Cell president Pranesh were among those who participated in the programme.
