Three-Day ISRO Space Exhibition to Open at SKCET Coimbatore

Coimbatore: The ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri, under the Indian Space Research Organisation, in association with Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET), Coimbatore, will organise a three-day ISRO Space Exhibition 2026 at the college campus from October 5 to 7, 2026, as part of the World Space Week celebrations. The exhibition aims to create awareness among students and the general public about India's space programme, space science, technological advancements and career opportunities in the space sector. Officials and experts from ISRO, special invitees, students and representatives from educational institutions will participate in the inaugural programme. A major highlight of the event will be the space exhibition, featuring models, exhibits and displays related to India's space missions, achievements and advanced space technologies. Video presentations showcasing India's remarkable journey in space exploration will also be screened. Experts from IPRC and other ISRO centres will conduct special lectures and interactive sessions covering a wide range of topics, including human spaceflight, launch vehicle technology, test facilities, space applications, liquid propulsion systems, cryogenic propulsion and the application of artificial intelligence in launch vehicle technology. The programme will also include career guidance sessions for students, offering insights into career opportunities, employment prospects and the skills required for pursuing careers in the space and allied technology sectors. As part of the celebrations, various student engagement activities including drawing, elocution and quiz competitions will be organised. A special Sky Watch with Telescope programme will also provide students and visitors with an opportunity to observe celestial objects and develop an interest in astronomy and space science. The three-day exhibition is expected to provide students with an opportunity to interact with ISRO experts, learn about India's achievements in space exploration and gain a better understanding of the technologies and scientific research behind space missions. School and college students as well as the general public can visit the exhibition free of cost from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from October 5 to 7, 2026, at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. The exhibition is expected to serve as an important platform for creating greater awareness about India's growing capabilities in space science and technology and inspiring the next generation to explore careers in the space sector.
