To meet the increased passenger demand during the upcoming festive season, the Salem Division of Southern Railway has announced weekly special trains between Charlapalli in Hyderabad and Sengottai, operating via Jolarpettai, Salem, Podanur, Pollachi, Palani and Dindigul. The services will operate from October 2 to November 30, 2026.
Coimbatore: With the festive season approaching and passenger demand expected to rise, the Salem Division of Southern Railway has announced weekly special trains between Charlapalli in Hyderabad and Sengottai, providing additional connectivity through major destinations including Jolarpettai, Salem, Podanur, Pollachi, Palani and Dindigul.
Train No. 07191, Charlapalli–Sengottai Weekly Special, will depart from Charlapalli at 7.15 am on Fridays from October 2 to November 27, 2026, and will reach Sengottai at 2.00 pm on Saturdays. The train will operate via Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Guntur, Tenali, Bapatla, Chirala, Ongole, Nellore, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Pollachi, Udumalaippettai, Palani, Oddanchatram, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Srivilliputtur, Rajapalayam, Sankarankovil, Kadayanallur and Tenkasi before reaching Sengottai.
In the return direction, Train No. 07192, Sengottai–Charlapalli Weekly Special, will depart from Sengottai at 5.40 pm on Saturdays from October 3 to November 28, 2026, and will reach Charlapalli at 12.30 am on Mondays. The return service will cover the same route in the opposite direction, providing connectivity to passengers travelling from southern Tamil Nadu towards Hyderabad and other destinations.
The introduction of these weekly special services is expected to provide additional capacity for passengers travelling during the festive period and ease the pressure on regular train services.
