Former AIADMK MLA A Shanmugam Joins Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam in Minister Sengottaiyan's Presence

Coimbatore: In a significant political development, Ettimadai A Shanmugam, former Member of Legislative Assembly and Secretary of AIADMK for Madukkarai Union in Coimbatore South Rural District, joined the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam in the presence of Minister Sengottaiyan.

The joining ceremony witnessed the participation of several prominent political functionaries from the region. Kandiappan, Settipalayam Town Panchayat Party Secretary, and Balu, former Deputy Secretary of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society, were among those who switched allegiance to the new party.

Other notable functionaries who joined include C Kathirvel, Joint Secretary of Farmers Association Madukkarai, SMN Nagamanickam from the Unorganized Drivers Wing of Kinathukadavu Union, and SMN Varatharaj from the Kinathukadavu Unorganized Drivers Wing. The list also includes Senthilkumar, Branch Party Secretary from Solavampalayam, who made the transition along with his supporters.

Anand, Union President of the Unorganized Drivers Wing, Stanley from the 90th Ward Youth Wing of Kovaiputhur, and ABT Mani from the District Unorganized Drivers Wing were also present during the event. The ceremony saw the participation of various other administrators and functionaries from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam who collectively joined the Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam.

This mass defection from AIADMK to Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam is being viewed as a significant political shift in the Coimbatore South Rural District, particularly in the Madukkarai region. The presence of Minister Sengoottaiyan at the joining ceremony underscored the importance of this political development for the Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam in expanding its base in the western districts of Tamil Nadu.
